Door Hangers That Send Neighbors to Your Bin Cleaning Sign-Up Form

Bin cleaning is about as local as a business gets. Your best prospects live next door to the customers you already clean for, and they walk past those clean cans every week. A door hanger is the cheapest way to say "we're the ones who did that, and here's how to sign up."

Every Hanger Should End at the Form

The last article, Following Up on Unanswered Trash Can Cleaning Quotes, was about customers who already raised their hand. Door hangers are how you get more hands raised in the first place.

The single most important decision on a door hanger is where it sends people. If it says "Call or text for a quote," you are back to booking one text at a time. If it sends people to your website sign-up form, the neighbor can pick a plan, enter their cans and trash day, and leave a card in a couple of minutes, and the sign-up lands in Form Responses ready to convert.

Put a short, easy-to-type web address on the hanger, and a QR code that goes straight to the sign-up form, not your home page. Every extra tap between the hanger and the form loses people.

Where to Hang Them

Around current customers. The houses on either side of a customer, across the street, and a few doors down. Those neighbors have seen your trailer and might have seen the clean cans.

On streets with the same trash day. If a new customer signs up there, they fit on a route you already run. Grouping new customers by trash day keeps routes tight, so every hanger on a route street is worth more than one across town.

In neighborhoods you want to grow into. A batch in a new area can help you decide whether there is enough interest to add a route.

Use the Waiting List map to see where your customers cluster. The gaps between pins on a street you already clean are where hangers pay off most.

When to Hang Them

Timing matters as much as location.

Many owners have the tech drop hangers on the way back to the trailer after each clean. It takes a minute per stop and covers the best houses in the area.

What to Print

Keep it simple and readable from three feet away.

Print on sturdy stock that survives a little rain and wind. A hanger that ends up soggy in a flower bed does not send anyone to your form. Order enough for a season at a time, but keep the offer general enough that the same hanger works in spring and in summer, or print a small batch for each promotion.

Leave a box where the tech can check "We cleaned on your street today." It turns a generic hanger into a personal note.

Knowing Which Hangers Worked

You cannot tell which marketing works unless you mark where sign-ups came from. When you convert a sign-up that mentions a door hanger, tag the client with where it came from, such as "Door hanger – Maple Ridge." A few months later you can see which neighborhoods produced customers who stuck around.

Do not judge a batch by a single week. Some people keep a hanger on the fridge for a month before signing up. The full approach is in Measuring Which Trash Can Cleaning Sign-Ups Stick.

Rules of the Road

Never put anything in a mailbox. In the US that is off limits for anything that has not gone through the mail. Hang on the door handle, respect "no soliciting" signs, and check whether your HOA or city has its own rules. Pick up any hanger that blows into a yard. A sloppy hanger campaign can cost you more goodwill than it gains.

The Short Version

Hang them around current customers the day after trash day, print one clear offer, and send every hanger straight to the sign-up form. For the tools that take over once they sign up, visit the TrashCanBossPro bin cleaning booking software page.
